Dune Lakes Press began as we published our first little photo guidebook, Rare Coastal Dune Lakes: Biodiversity and a Sense of Home, in 2013. Author Ginger Jackson Sinton had been photographing the 15 dune lakes scattered along the Gulf Coast of Northwest Florida since she heard about their rarity during a visit to the area many years ago. The collection of photos complimented her recent research on the lakes for a Capstone project in graduate school. With a background in graphic design, a love of nature, and new Master of the Arts in Professional Writing in hand, she decided self-publishing was the way to go. Thus, Dune Lakes Press was born. We look forward to creating more books with connections to the land and people of the South.
