Springtime around the Coastal Dune Lakes

I can't believe it's been a year since the release of our coastal dune lakes book. I've had the pleasure of meeting so many folks in the South Walton area—and beyond—who truly care about the lakes and the wildlife surrounding them. Spending time at each lake, in the state parks, attending outdoors events and fundraisers has brought new meaning to being a steward of the land. We are extremely fortunate to have people in this area who work to preserve the natural habitats of so many beautiful animals. I'd like to thank each and every one who has supported my book in whatever way - and participated in preserving nature's glory, as well.

This past year also brought record rainfall which has effected the coastal dune lakes and surrounding vegetation. And our outlook, as well! For several days, I thought we'd be building an arc and inviting animal friends in pairs to join us. Finally, things are drying out and spring is in the air. I love seeing all the new blossoms with the vibrant colors and textures against the organic blue sky.

With nature's beauty in full force, let us get out and explore the land. Get on a board or take a bike ride along the many trails. Take pictures. Paint a landscape. And keep in mind how fortunate we are to have the rare coastal dune lakes, habitats to such fine creatures. Enjoy!
